What is Special: What makes JTYJN special is that each of its characters is so well etched, each scene is so well written (every scene has a significance and connects to something else later on in the story) and the bonding between the characters is extremely natural. The lead pair of Imran and Genelia is the cutest pair Bollywood would have seen in a while, his submissive, non- violent Jai playing the perfect foil to the foul mouthed, catty and bratty Aditi. The group of friends, Rotlu, Bombs, Sandhya and Jignesh the Patel are as natural as natural can get and the narrative technique they use forms an interesting deceit in the movie. Ratna Pathak Shah and Naseeruddin Shah (within the limited 'confines' of his role) play stellar parts. Manjari Phadnis who plays Meghna is very very beautiful and acts pretty well too. Ayaz Khan is OK. Arbaaz Khan and Sohail Khan, in their mindless cameos, are outstanding and add a zing to the climax that you wouldn't have thought possible. Paresh Rawal is endearing in the two scenes that he has and makes you wish for more. And it would be criminal not to mention Prateik Babbar who plays Amit, Aditi's brother. Raj Babbar and Smita Patil's son surely seems to have inherited his mother's genes and will no doubt be seen a lot more on screen. One of the other major crutches the movie rests on being AR Rahman's music. The few songs that there are on screen flow pretty well with the narrative and the madcap background score in the climax and pre-climax scenes is just so apt.
