Audio Review : Baadshah – Peppy and entertaining treat for fans
Young Tiger NTR’s highly anticipated entertainer ‘Baadshah’ is gearing up for a release soon. The audio album has been released yesterday in Hyderabad. Thaman has composed the music for this film and the audio album has 6 tracks in all. Let us check out the album now and see if Thaman has a few chartbusters on hand.
1. Song: Sairo Sairo
Singers: Ranjith, Rahul Nambiar & Naveen
Lyrics : Krishna Chaitanya
‘Sairo Sairo’ is a very peppy and fast paced solo number. Thaman’s music gives great scope for NTR to showcase his dancing skills. There is a heavy use of the synthesizer, electric guitar and percussion instruments in the musical track. Ranjith, Rahul Nambiar and Naveen have taken care of the vocals and they have given an energetic performance. Krishna Chaitanya’s lyrics are ok. The song will click well with students and young adults.
2.Song: Diamond Girl
Singers: Simbu and Suchitra
Lyrics: Ramajogayya Sastry
Diamond Girl is one of the best tracks of this album. Tamil Star Simbu a.k.a. STR has taken care of the vocals for this number and he has done a brilliant job. Suchitra has provided good support. Thaman is in his elements here and the music is incredibly foot tapping. Ramajogayya Sastry’s lyrics are good. The ‘STR for NTR’ sequence sounds very cool and it is a nice touch. Expect very grand visuals for this song.
3.Song: Baadshah
Singers: Hemachandra, Shefali Alvares and Geetha Madhuri
Lyrics: Viswa
‘Baadshah’ is the title track of the movie and this is another foot tapping number from the album. Hemachandra, Geetha Madhuri and Shefali Alwares have rendered the song with good energy levels. The song starts off with sweet guitar work. The music has good pace but Thaman has used some pretty routine sounds here. Viswa’s lyrics are decent.
4.Song: Banthi Poola Janaki
Singers: Daler Mehandi and Ranina Reddy
Lyrics: Ramajogayya Sastry
‘Banthi Poola Janaki’ is the highlight track of this album and it is a sure shot chartbuster. This mass duet is aimed at the front benchers and Daler Mehandi infuses great energy into the vocals. Ranina Reddy matches him with an equally spirited performance. Thaman has come up with a pretty rustic musical score that is perfect for the mood of the song. Expect energetic steps from NTR for this extremely addictive track.
5.Song: Welcome Kanakam
Singers: Sowmya Rao and Jaspreet Jasz
Lyrics: Bhaskara Bhatla
‘Welcome Kanakam’ is the item song of the film. Bhaskara Bhatla has given some mass masala lyrics for this number and Sowmya Rao has rendered them pretty effectively. Thaman’s musical score sounds a bit repetitive here and there are some references to his ‘Poovai Poovai’ item song. Overall, this fast paced song does its job of appeasing front benchers.
6. Song : Rangoli Rangoli
Singers : Sonu Kakkar and Divya Kumar
Lyrics : Ramajogayya Sastry
This song starts off pretty interestingly, with a musical sound that seems to have come from Masthan Band Orchestras used in small town weddings. Sonu Kakkar has done a decent job with the vocals. Ramajogayya Sastry’s lyrics are just about ok here. Nothing much to write home about Thaman’s music for this number. It is pretty ordinary. Pace of the song though, is very fast and we have been hearing reports that NTR has come up with outstanding steps for this track.
Note : The names of the singers have been changed from Baba Sehgal and Manasi to Sonu Kakkar and Divya Kumar.
Verdict :
Thaman has come up with a very peppy and entertaining music album for ‘Baadshah’. Rather than experimenting too much, he has concentrated on coming up with fast paced tracks for NTR to showcase his dancing skills. ‘Diamond Girl’, ‘Banthi Poola Janaki’ and ‘Sairo Sairo’ are the highlight tracks of this album and all three of them are potential chartbusters. ‘Baadshah’ is gearing up to be a treat for fans and the music album is no different.
