Audio Review : Balupu – Promising Album for Ravi Teja

Mass Maharaja Ravi Teja’s ‘Balupu’ is gearing up for a release on June 21st. The audio album of the film has been launched recently in Hyderabad. Thaman has composed the music for this mass entertainer. Shruti Haasan and Anjali will be seen opposite Ravi Teja as the heroines. This film is quite crucial for Ravi Teja as he has been going through a lean run at the Box Office. How is the audio album? Well, let us check that out now.

1 .Kajal Chelliva

Artist(s): Ravi Teja , S.S.Thaman

Lyricist: Bhaskara Bhatla

Ravi Teja has lent his voice to a song for perhaps the first time. Thaman does most of the singing in this mass number. Bhaskara Bhatla’s lyrics are quite rustic and they describe the feelings of a man who has been spurned by a woman. This song is aimed at the front benchers, so expect it to be picturized in an entertaining way. Percussion instruments dominate Thaman’s musical score.

2 .Yevaindho

Artist(s): S P Balasubramaniam , Geetha Madhuri

Lyricist: Sirivennela Seetharama Sastri

S. P. Balasubrahmanyam garu has lent his voice to a full fledged Telugu romantic duet after a long time. It is always a magical experience to listen to his voice. Geetha Madhuri complements S.P.Balu quite well and the end result is quite melodious. The song has a slight retro feel and Thaman’s music is easy on the ears. Sirivennela Seetharama Sastry’s lyrics are pleasant. Overall, this is a song that is good and easy to like.

3 .Lucky Lucky Rai

Artist(s): Naveen Madhav , M.M.Manasi

Lyricist: Bhaskara Bhatla

This is a song that will most likely be shot on Ravi Teja and Lakshmi Rai. Naveen Madhav and Manasi have taken care of the vocals. The song has good pace and the music is addictive. Bhaskara Bhatla’s lyrics are ok. The peppy nature of the song gives good scope for entertaining visuals. Lakshmi Rai’s glamour will only help matters. Expect the song to strike a chord with front benchers.

4 .Padipoyaanila

Artist(s): Suchith Suresan , Megha

Lyricist: Ananta Sriram

‘Padipoyaanila’ is a peppy romantic duet. Suchith Suresan and Megha have rendered the vocals with good energy. Thaman’s music sounds routine but nevertheless, it sounds pleasant. As usual, the synthesizer dominates all other instruments. Going by the visuals showcased in the teaser, Shruti Haasan will be seen in a very glamorous avatar in this song. Ananta Sriram’s lyrics are ok. Overall, this is a decent, foot tapping number.

5 .Pathikella Sundari

Artist(s): Mika Singh , Ranina

Lyricist: Bhaskara Bhatla

This is an out and out mass number which has been picturized on Ravi Teja and Shruti Haasan. Shruti seems to be looking quite spectacular in this song. Mika Singh and Ranina Reddy have taken care of the vocals and they have done a good job. Ranina Reddy’s voice, in particular, has good energy levels. Music is dominated by percussion instrument beats and it sounds sufficiently rustic. But it is similar to ‘Banthi Poola Janaki’ from ‘Baadshah’. Bhaskara Bhatla’s lyrics are ok.

Verdict :

‘Balupu’ is one of the most commercially promising audio albums that Ravi Teja has had in recent times. Thaman’s music sounds routine and slightly repetitive, but it still manages to create a good impact. The songs are peppy and are easy to like. ‘Yevaindho’ , ‘Padipoyaanila’ and ‘Pathikella Sundari’ are my picks. Shruti Haasan’s glamour and Ravi Teja’s energy levels will be a good asset for the visuals.
