Actor Nandu Vijay Krishna and popular anchor Rashmi Gautam’s romantic action drama, Bomma Blockbuster is out now in theaters. Let’s check how the movie is.
Story:
Pothuraju (Nandu Vijay Krishna), an ardent fan of Puri Jagannadh, dreams of making a movie based on the events that happened in his own life. Over time, his life takes a new turn with the murder of his father. Who killed his father? What did Pothuraju do next? Did Pothuraju achieve what he dreamed of? The main film has the answers.
Plus Points:
Nandu is a good artist and he proved it earlier by playing decent characters in many movies. In this film, he turned hero and delivered a neat performance. His body language is good and so was his diction.
Debutant director Raj Virat showcases the village atmosphere quite well and he succeeds in bringing out the best of his technical team. A few action sequences look a bit impressive with good background score and crisp editing. Though Rashmi Gautam is the heroine in this film and has no scope to perform, her screen presence was good to see.
Minus Points:
The story of the film is a big let down. It starts as an action flick, then the story turns emotional and becomes bland in the second half. The story has a simple point but the director fills it with unnecessary scenes which damage the flow of the film. Raghu Kunche is limited to just a few scenes.
Nandu was good but his over-the-top performance in a few scenes looked boring. He creates unnecessary drama in his life just to make sure the story comes out well to make a film. This looks quite silly. No other character will be remembered by the end of the movie as it is narrated in a dull manner.
Technical aspects:
Director Raj Virat failed to make Bomma Blockbuster live up to its name. He makes a simple story fuzzy with over-the-top scenes. As mentioned above, he made technicians give their best but he utterly failed to make their work get a good response.
A couple of songs and background score provided by Prashanth R Vihari are an added advantage to the movie. Cinematography by Sujatha Siddharth needs a special mention. Editing by Subhaskar is fine. The richness of production values can be seen on the screen. Also, the crisp runtime is a big boon to viewers.
Verdict:
On the whole, Bomma Blockbuster is a silly and over-the-top movie that fails to impress completely. Except for a very few scenes, the movie has nothing special to mention and will not work with the masses as well. You can skip it this weekend.
