Story:

Prasad (Suhas) is to a middle-class family man. He leads a simple life with his wife (Sangeerthana Vipin). They both are quite happy and love each other. However, things take an unexpected turn when Prasad takes a harsh decision not to have children. Prasad believes that parents should not give birth to kids if they can’t provide them with the best life. Twist in the tale arises when Prasad’s wife misses her month. Prasad realizes that the condom he used for family planning did not work properly. He files a case against that condom company. Does he win the case? How did Prasad’s argument go when he demands crores of compensation? Watch the film in cinemas to find out the answers.

Plus Points:

The scenes that realistically portray the lives of the middle class in today’s society are impressive. The film initiates an important discussion about how much today’s couples have to think before having children. Director Sandeep Reddy skillfully incorporated entertainment in this unique family drama. The way Suhas’ character is established from the beginning is good.

The scenes between Suhas and his father, Goparaju Ramana, and the comedy scenes have worked out well. And the performances by all the actors are quite good. Suhas is very convincing in his role. He did a good job with his timing even in serious scenes. Goparaju Ramana was amazing in the role of an annoyed father. Vennela Kishore’s character, his dialogues and gestures were hilarious.

Young actress Sangeerthana Vipin was impressive in her role, which runs on an emotional tone. Rajendra Prasad’s performance as a judge is very good. Murali Sharma, Prabhas Srinu, and the rest of the cast also came up with decent performances within the limitations of their characters.

Minus Points:

Even though the core plotline scripted by Sandeep Reddy Bandla and Suhas-Goparaju Ramana’s characters were good, the story is quite simple and slow at certain points. In the second half in particular, the screenplay suffers from a silly treatment that neither evokes laughter nor interest. Adding to this, certain key scenes were not logically connected. The heroine’s character and the ‘Enjoy Company’ episode could have been written strongly.

The initial scenes featuring the lead pair lost their impact due to lethargic writing. The philosophy of the hero who believes either in giving the best to children or not having children at all is quite impressive. It would have been better if the conflict was built around this point. Additionally, the conflict between the hero and heroine’s families could have been established well. Overall, although the director effectively translated the basic idea on the screen, he could not make some routine and boring scenes in the movie entertaining.

Technical Aspects:

Debutant Sandeep Reddy Bandla impresses as a director, but he falters in coming up with an effectively and engaging screenplay. The songs and background score in some crucial scenes by music composer Vijai Bulganin are alright. The editor should have trimmed the unnecessary scenes to come up with a tightly-knit narrative. Cinematography by Sai Sriram is decent. The production values by producers Hanshita Reddy and Harshith Reddy are good.

Verdict:

Janaka Aithe Ganaka is a family entertainer that disappoints on the whole. While youths may connect to the comedy scenes featuring Vennela Kishore, the film is not everyone’s cup of tea due its silly comedy. The lackluster treatment and the lethargic second half heavily impacted the overall outcome.
