A new film named Kho Gaye Hum Kahan is now streaming on Netflix. The movie stars Ananya Panday, Siddhant Chaturvedi, and Adarsh Gourav in the lead roles. Let’s see how it is.

Story:

The story of Kho Gaye Hum Kahan revolves around three friends Ahana (Ananya Panday), Imaad (Siddhant Chaturvedi), and Neil (Adarsh Gourav). Imaad is a stand-up comedian, and Neil is a gym instructor. They aim to make it big in their profession. On the other hand, Ahana, an MBA graduate, gets into a relationship issue. What happens in their lives forms the rest of the story.

Plus Points:

Kho Gaye Hum Kahan deals with a relevant topic that is more aimed at modern-day youth. It showcases the harsh reality of getting highly attached to social media rather than living in the moment.

The film asks us to spend time with our loved ones rather than getting glued to the mobile screens throughout the day. Not just this, but the movie touches upon multiple aspects that are pretty much relatable. The beautiful part is all of these are told in an endearing manner without getting preachy.

The message to the society has been given through the lives of three friends. Each of them is battling their own issues, and they are nicely interwoven with the harmful effects of social media. Just when we think the film is going flat, the makers introduce a conflict point between the friends and make the film interesting.

Over the end, the movie becomes darker and more intense, yet it is handled in a subtle manner. Ananya Panday improved a lot compared to her earlier films and did a good job. Siddhant Chaturvedi and Adarsh Gourav are terrific in their roles. Despite less screen time, Kalki Koechlin leaves a mark.

Minus Points:

While the concept and story are pretty good, the movie is slow-paced for the most part. Especially the first hour could have been more crisp and a few redundant scenes could have been edited out for better experience.

The movie’s concept appeals more to the urban audience, and the other section of the audience might not find it great. The film gets slightly predictable at times. The humor part could have been written better.

Technical Aspects:

The music is pretty good and is in sync with the film’s theme. The cinematography by Tanay Satam is amazing, and so is the production design. The editing could have been much better, though.

Director Arjun Varain Singh did a decent job with his debut film. The second hour is handled in a good manner, and the makers deserve appreciation for addressing many things that are very crucial in this digital era.

Verdict:

On the whole, Kho Gaye Hum Kahan depicts how people are giving more importance to social media rather than enjoying the best moments in life. Many such relatable aspects are showcased through the lives of three friends, played by Ananya Panday, Siddhant Chaturvedi, and Adarsh Gourav. The actors did a pretty good job. However, the slow-paced narration bogs down the impact, and the runtime could have been reduced. If you are okay with these shortcomings, you can give this film a try.
