The Bollywood film Pintu Ki Pappi has been dubbed in Telugu as Kiss Kiss Kissk. Starring a relatively young cast, the film is directed by Shiv Hare and produced by Vidhi Acharya. Leading Tollywood production house Mythri Movie Makers is releasing the movie in Telugu states. The film was released in cinemas earlier today. Check out our review to know how it fares.

Story:

Pintu (Sushant) comes to stay with his maternal uncle (Ganesh Acharya) for his studies. He falls in love with Pammi (Vidhi), who lives in the opposite house. However, after Pintu kisses her, Pammi immediately gets married. This strange phenomenon continues, as whenever Pintu kisses any girl, she immediately gets married. Pintu and his uncle start a business called “Confirm Wedding,” where they arrange marriages for girls. In the process, Pintu meets Prerana (Jaanyaa Joshi). But Pintu cannot kiss Prerna due to his predicament. The rest of the story is all about how Pintu deals with this curse and whether Pintu and Prerana end up being together.

Plus Points:

The very concept of the story is quite interesting, and the setup, the hero’s curse, and the comedy, love, and wedding sequences are engaging. The movie manages to entertain the audience with a fine blend of humor and emotional moments. Lead actor Sushant delivers a commendable performance with perfect body language. Choreographer Ganesh Acharya plays a key role and has done justice to his character. His performance in the comedy scenes is hilarious.

Jaanyaa Joshi impresses with her glamor and bold scenes. Another lead actress, Vidhi, also performed very well. Seasoned actors Murali Sharma and Vijay Raaz deliver remarkable performances. Vijay Raaz, with his strong presence and mannerisms, was phenomenal. Other supporting actors like Ali Asgar, Sunil Pal, and Ajay Jadhav also did justice to their characters.

Minus Points:

While Kiss Kiss Kissk has a good core concept, director Shiv Hare faltered in executing it in certain scenes. A decent blend of suspense and fun would have made the movie a more enjoyable fare. The first half lacks the fun elements, which is compensated by the second half.

The romance track between the main leads was underdeveloped, and the conflict could have been well developed. The curse plot also features some scenes that feel weak. Adding to the woes, the story is far from logic at times. The director fails to maintain the momentum throughout the movie, especially in the second half. The fun and bold moments fail to engage the audience beyond a certain point.

Technical Aspects:

Kiss Kiss Kissk is technically well made. Dr. Nitz’s music is the major highlight of the movie, while Ajay Pande’s cinematography stands out as yet another advantage. Manoj Magar’s editing is in line with the film’s needs. The production values by producer Vidhi Acharya are rich and adequate. While Shiv Hare’s direction was decent, the script didn’t fully live up to expectations.

Verdict:

Kiss Kiss Kissik has an interesting concept at its core. However, the fun elements revolving around the hero’s curse, the wedding-themed track, the lackluster screenplay, and a few boring scenes limit the overall engagement. The film has a few humorous and bold sequences, but it fails to leave a lasting impact on the whole.
