Continuing the trend of reviewing low-budget films, today’s pick is Madhura Wines. The film is out now and let’s see how it is.
Story :
Ajay(Sunny Naveen) falls in deep love with Madhura but she marries someone else. Upset with this, Ajay gets addicted to alcohol. This is also the time when Anjali (Seema Chowdary) starts loving Ajay. After a point, even Ajay gets close to Anjali. When things seem to be going fine, the break in the love story comes with the entry of Anjali’s brother (Sammohit) who does not like to marry his sister to a drunkard. How will this love story get solved? To know this, we need to watch the film on the big screen.
Plus Points :
Sunny Naveen, who acted as the main lead does well in his role of a drunkard lover. Even though it is his first film, he has done quite well. Sammohith, who played the heroine’s brother is the best part of the film and gives a very sincere performance.
Seema Chowdary, who played the female lead looked quite gorgeous. Her role and the way she acted were good to see. The key confrontation scenes between the hero and his father evoke decent emotions.
Minus Points :
The story of the film is good but the way it has been narrated is quite jaded. Some of the most key scenes in the film are way too cinematic and look forced. The director had good scope for the drama to be elevated but he did not.
Apart from some key scenes and emotions in the first half, the rest of the film is quite dull. The director has taken way too many liberties in presenting the story and this is where things go for a toss.
Technical Aspects :
The music of the film is just about okay but the camerawork is not that impressive. Some of the crucial scenes in the film have not been showcased well. But the BGM of the film is decent and elevates key scenes.
Coming to the director Jaya Kishore, his story was good but the way he has narrated the film is quite disappointing. His drama is forced and lacks depth.
Verdict :
On the whole, Madhura Wines is a lackluster drama that is filled with forced scenes. Barring the sincere storyline and a few emotions between the lead pair, this film ends as a disappointing watch this weekend. You may ignore it.
