2014 has set in, and the first movie to hit the New Year’s eve is Aravind Krishna’s Biscuit. Starring the lovely Dimple, this film is directed by Anil Gopireddy and has hit the screens today. Let’s see how the movie is.
Story:-
Ashwin(Aravind Krishna) is a happy go lucky guy who works for a construction company. He is so obsessed with his job promotion that he does whatever his boss(Ajay) asks him to do.
On the other hand, Ashwin is good friends with Chitti Raju(Vennale Kishore) who also shares a similar situation and does what ever his boss(Raghu) asks him to do. One fine day, Ashwin meets Deeksha and falls in love with her. The couple spend some lovely times and even break up because of an petty issue.
Upset in life and also with their bosses, Ashwin and Chitti Babu get heavily drunk and plan to kill their respective bosses. As they get ready to execute their plan, things take an u-turn and Chitti Babu’s boss, Raghu dies accidentally.
Rest of the story is as to how to how Ashwin and Chitti Babu escape from this murder case, and will the ex-lovers Deeksha and Ashwin ever patch up.
Plus Points:-
Major highlight of the film is Tagubothu Ramesh. Though his character enters only in the second half, Ramesh manages to entertain the audience wonderfully. He is particularly good in the climax episode.
Dimple looks cute in her role and has decent acting capabilities. Aravind Krishna suits his role aptly and looks stylish. First 20 minutes of the movie is pretty entertaining.
Minus Points:-
After the first twenty minutes of interesting narration, the movie finds it very hard to move forward right till the end. Though Vennala Kishore has a full length role, he completely fails in entertaining the viewers.
Ali and M S Narayana have been wasted in their respective roles. Even though Tagubothu Ramesh’s presence in the climax provides entertainment, it looks very silly at times. Dubbing of the movie is also a big drawback and certain logics in the movie go missing.
Technical Aspects:-
Camera work is just about OK and so are the dialogues. Editing is pretty bad, as many scenes could have been completely chopped off.
Director Ykuntapali has failed in holding the film together. He has worked on the story, screenplay, music and has not been able to justify in any department. Music of the film is just about OK.
Verdict:-
On the whole, Biscuit has not been successful in bringing about a good start to this new year. Other than Tagubothu Ramesh and Dimple’s glamour, this film is not worth your taste.
