Prince and Mahat are two young actors who have just begun their journey in Tollywood. Both of them are trying to make a mark in the Industry and they have teamed up for the film Bunny n Cherry. Directed by Rajesh Puli, this films also stars Kirthi and Saba as the female leads. Bunny n Cherry has hit the screens today, so let us see how it is.

Story:

Bunny(Prince) and Cherry(Mahat) are two youngsters who are busy with their own lives. While Bunny works for a software company, Cherry is jobless and spends most of the time with his friends.

One fine day, while coming back from a rave party, a drunk Bunny accidentally slams Cherry’s bike. Both of them have severe head injuries and are hospitalized in critical condition.

Doctors try hard to save their lives and manage to do so after a surgery. But the surgery has its own effects. Now Bunny’s body has Cherrys’s memories and Cherry’s body has Bunny’s.

Rest of the story is as to what problems Bunny and Cherry face in their regular life and how they manage to come out of them.

Positive Points:

Though unrealistic, concept of the film is quite unique. Last 15 minutes of the first half moves at a fast pace. Actors Prince and Mahat manage to do a decent job in the film.

Some scenes where Bunny and Cherry join hands and solve each others problems is pretty good.

Negative points:

With such an unusual subject, the director should have done a lot of homework to get things right. But poor screenplay and bad writing take a huge toll on the movie. The second half could have been used to come up with good comedy sequences and interesting conflict points. Sadly, the films does not showcase any major problem and falls flat.

Heroines have nothing much to do in the film, and have been wasted totally. The movie just keeps shifting from one problem to another and the story just does not move forward. The emotional aspects of memory transfer have not been dealt with effectively.

Brahmanandam is wasted in a silly role in the film. First half an hour of the movie is boring and the story takes for ever to start. The actors who did the roles of Bunny and Cherry’s friends fail to make any impact or generate any humour.

Technical Aspects:

Music of the film is below average except for the Manasa song. Camera work is decent and all the songs have good visuals. Dialogues are OK and so is the editing.

Rather than focusing on the unique concept he has chosen, the director tried to play a safe game and he ended up with a cliched and mediocre product.

Verdict:

Overall, Bunny n Cherry is a film with a unique (though quite unrealistic) storyline. However, bad writing and poor execution kill the film. Dragged out scenes and below par performance from the supporting cast make this film a tedious watch.
