Vennela Kishore, who tested his luck as a hero with ‘Athadu Aame O Scooter’, is now back with another film D/O Varma. This film has Naveena Jackson and Kavita Aares as female leads and is directed by Khaja. The movie has hit the screens today and let’s check how the movie goes

Story :-

Ram Gopal Varma(Vennela Kishore) is a Radio Jockey who is always behind girls. One fine day, a lady named Deeksha( Kavita Arres) calls him on his Radio show and tells him that she is very depressed in life. She also adds that she is on the hunt for her father who had cheated her mother. RGV consoles her and asks her to come over to Hyderabad and search for her dad.

As such, Deeksha lands directly at Varma’s house and reveals the shock of his life. She tells Varma that he is the father that she has been looking out for. A virtually shocked Varma tells Deeksha that he is a bachelor and is not going to believe her story.

Deeksha keeps nagging him and also challenges him to get a DNA test done to prove her version. Once the DNA tests are out, results reveal that Deeksha is indeed RGV’s daughter. Left with no choice, Varma allows Deeksha into his house.

This is also the time when Varma is in serious relation with a teacher called Madhu(Naveena Jackson). What will Varma do now? Will he accept Deeksha as his daughter ? How will he manage his love life? What happens in the end? For all those answers you need to watch the film on big screen.

Plus Points :-

The only plus point of the film is the star cast. Each of the actors has done a decent job. Vennela Kishore performs very well as a confused father. Lead actresses Kavita and Naveena Jackson ably support him right till the end. The child artist who plays the role of Varma’s grandsons gives a believable performance.

Minus Points :-

First of all, D/O Varma has been projected as a comedy movie which is not the case. The movie has very less comedy quotient and run time of the movie also does not help the movie.

Songs are a big hindrance and have been included for no reason. Roja has a weak role and has been wasted in the film completely. There are so many loop holes in the film and logic goes for a toss in most of the scenes.

Technical Aspects :-

Director Khaja has done a decent job in extracting decent acting skills from his entire cast, but has failed completely in executing the film. Camera work is just about OK and so is the editing. Dialogues are below par and the so called comedy quotient is bad. Screenplay of the movie leaves a lot to be desired as many scenes in the movie don’t really make any sense of logic.

Verdict :-

Those of you who are planning to watch D/O Varma thinking that it is a comedy film will be let down completely. This is nowhere close to a comedy film and ends up like a tragedy for those who watch it. Stay away from this one.
