Starring Ravan Reddy and Payal Wadhwa in the lead roles, Pedavi Datani Matokatundi, has built up decent expectations, thanks to an impressive trailer. The movie has seen the limelight today and lets check whether the youthful drama lives up to its expectations or not.

Story:

Tharun(Ravan) is a happy-go-lucky guy who has no interest in studies. He sets all his focus on magic tricks and aspires to become a magician. In order to get things going, he takes up a janitor job in a software company. One fine day, he meets Ahana(Payal) and falls for her instantly. However, he cannot convey his love to her for 2 reasons. What are these reasons? Will he be able to overcome these hurdles and get his love life on track? Watch the movie on big screens to know the answers.

Plus points:

Debutant hero, Ravan Reddy is a good performer and does complete justice to his role with his energetic screen presence. Moeen, who acted as hero’s friend came up with a fine job in his supporting role.

Payal Wadhwa looks charming and does well within her limitations. The chemistry between the lead pair is good and this gives a decent depth to the plot.

Senior actor, Naresh, who acts as hero’s father puts all his experience to use and carries a few scenes on his shoulders. The family episodes between the hero and his father have come out really well.

Minus points:

The core concept of the movie fails to impress and the director messes it up further with his conviction-less narration. The ill-paced screenplay can get on to the nerves of the viewers.

A comparatively inexperienced supporting cast acts as another big setback for the movie. Their acts look a bit immature and that plays the spoiler part here.

The editing department did a below par job as massive chunks of the movie can be simply chopped off. A few scenes head with no real intent and the pace of the movie takes a beating here.

Technical aspects:

The director, Guru Prasad, picks a crisp storyline that has a good scope for entertainment but fails to narrate it in an interesting manner. He should have taken proper care of screenplay as many scenes look undercooked and illogical.

The production values of the movie are way below par and that is very much evident on the big screen. The music for the movie is just fine as 2 songs are good to hear. However, the background score is unimpressive and that destroys the tempo of the proceedings.

Verdict:

All in all, Pedavi Datani Matokatundi comes with a different concept but fails to pack a punch, owing to its ill-paced narration and confusing screenplay. The movie looks half-baked as it heads with no real direction. The episodes featuring Naresh and Ravan are the only positives for this below par attempt. It is advisable to look for other alternatives to kill your time this weekend.
