Save The Tigers 2, the second season of the popular and hilarious Telugu web series, Save The Tigers, was released on Disney Plus Hotstar OTT platform today. Check out our review to explore whether Save The Tigers 2 lives up to the hype or not.

Story:

The series resumes where it left off, as police detain Ghanta Ravi (Priyadarshi), Rahul (Abhinav Gomatam), and Vikram (Krishna Chaitanya) under suspicion of kidnapping heroine Hamsalekha (Seerat Kapoor). However, things take an unexpected turn when the actress approaches the authorities, clearing the trio’s names and forming an unlikely friendship with them. Meanwhile, Vikram and Harika (Darshana Banik) are immersed in a project, Rahul is penning a story for Hamsalekha, and Ghanta Ravi nurtures ambitions of securing the Corporator seat. Did their plans go off without a hitch? How did their spouses react to their actions? The main storyline unravels these intricacies.

Plus Points:

Firstly, credit goes to the show creators, Mahi V Raghav and Pradeep Advaitham, for successfully managing the follow-up to a beloved series. They added an emotional layer to the entertainment and navigated the sequel adeptly.

Priyadarshi once again steals the show with his admirable performance, excelling in both comedy and heartfelt moments. Abhinav Gomatam also shines, delivering witty punches and impeccable comedic timing. Chaitanya Krishna impresses with his solid performance. The female leads, Jordar Sujata, Pavani Gangireddy, and Deviyani Sharma, contribute effectively to the narrative.

The initial three episodes offer uproarious laughter, while the final installment, though emotionally charged, ensures entertainment. The comedic timing of Abhinav Gomatam and Priyadarshi is delightful, and Seerat Kapoor’s presence adds value to the storyline.

Despite limited screen time, Mukku Avinash manages to entertain, while Rohini injects humor, making the series entertaining. The supporting cast also delivers satisfactory performances.

Minus Points:

While the series leaves a positive impression overall, it suffers from occasional dips in entertainment value, notably in the fourth episode following the initial three uproarious ones. A more concerted effort to inject humor into these duller episodes would have enhanced the viewing experience.

Seerat Kapoor’s role, although well-portrayed, could have been expanded to provide additional substance. Similarly, Rohini’s character feels underutilized compared to her role in the first season. Scenes focusing on Vikram’s mother-in-law and discussions about pets lack impact, and Darshana Banik’s role could have been developed further.

Technical Aspects:

Director Arun Kothapally, with creative input from Mahi V Raghav and Pradeep Advaitham, made the series an entertaining and family-friendly viewing experience. While the series maintains satisfactory production values, particularly in terms of music, cinematography, and editing, certain middle episodes, such as the 10000 BC episode, could have benefited from smoother editing to maintain the narrative flow.

Verdict:

On the whole, Save The Tigers 2 offers a watchable comedy experience, buoyed by commendable performances from the lead actors, especially Priyadarshi and Abhinav Gomatam. However, occasional dips in entertainment value, slow-paced narration in certain episodes, and limited comedic moments from characters like Rohini pose challenges. Despite these drawbacks, the sequel remains a viable option for family viewing over the weekend, albeit slightly less entertaining than its predecessor.
