After scoring a hit with SR Kalyanamandapam, young actor Kiran Abbavaram has come up with Sebastian PC 524, which has hit the screens today. Let’s see how it is.

Story:

Sebastian (Kiran Abbavaram) is an innocent and fearful police constable, who suffers from night blindness. He manages to escape from night shifts but one day, when he is on night duty, a woman gets murdered suspiciously. Later, the Police department suspends him. Then, Sebastian begins the investigation on his own. Is it a suicide or murder? How did Sebastian overcome his disorder and solve the case? That forms the rest of the story.

Plus Points:

Kiran Abbavaram has already proved himself as an actor and in this movie too, he performed well as an innocent and fearful constable. His comedy timing is pretty good. Raja Vikram, who played the friend of Kiran Abbavaram, needs to be appreciated for his acting skills.

Srikanth Iyengar also gave his best. Though it’s his debut movie, the director Balaji Sayyapureddy readied a decent subject. The background score is one of the major assets of the movie. The cinematography is fine and the production values are rich and you can witness them on screen.

Minus Points:

Despite having a good story and a well-performing actor, the director has failed to make the movie an engaging one. The crime cop drama has so much scope to narrate it in a crispy way, but the director did not make use of it. If he would have worked more on the screenplay, the movie would have become an edge-of-the-seat thriller.

Besides, the characterizations of other actors are so poor. Heroine Nuveksha’s role is not up to the mark. Rohini and Adarsh Balakrishna’s roles are unimpressive. Some scenes in the second half become a hurdle to the well-going story. Also, the climax seems to be silly and forceful.

Technical Aspects:

Director Balaji had a good vision but his poor narration makes Sebastian PC 524 a normal flick. Ghibran gives an outstanding background score throughout the film. The camera work by Raj K Nalli is pretty cool and the production values are rich. Viplav Nyshadam’s editing is fine but he could have cut a very few laggy scenes.

Final Verdict:

On the whole, Sebastian PC 524 is a half-baked crime cop drama with Kiran Abbavaram being the only saviour with his sincere performance. The film could have been an engaging thriller if the screenplay would have been more gripping. If you ignore some boring scenes, you can give this film a shot this weekend if you have nothing else to do.
