Sehari marks the debut film of the hero Harsh Kanumilli and director Gnanasagar Dwaraka. Having Simran Choudhary of Ee Nagaraniki Emaindi fame, the movie hit the screens today. Let’s see how it is.
Story
Varun( Harsh Kanumilli) is a carefree rich guy who is childish at heart. He decides to marry a girl who looks more gorgeous than his ex-girlfriend. His wedlock with Aliya (Sneha Vilidindi) gets fixed. Amulya (Simran Choudhary), the elder sister of Aliya, takes care of engagement and wedding works because of a family custom. Eventually, Varun develops feelings for Amulya and wants to call off the marriage. Did Varun cancel the marriage? How did Amulya react to his decision? The answers will be known if you watch the movie on the big screens only.
Plus Points
Though it’s his debut movie, Harsh Kanumilli performs very well like an experienced actor. He acts well as a confused young man. His comedy timing is so good and he also delivers his best in emotional scenes. He has a great future in the industry. Simran Choudhary looks beautiful and performed well. Abhinav Gomatam’s comedy is a big asset.
Filled with situational comedy, the movie makes you feel no boredom. The first half makes you laugh out loud. Visuals are rich and the music is also good to listen to. Besides, the runtime is an added advantage.
Minus Points
The story is nothing new to the Telugu audiences but what makes Sehari a decent watch is the way Gnanasagar narrates the story humorously. Casting Koti as the father of the hero is a nice thought but his character would have been better by writing more scenes for him.
The second half fails a bit to make audiences hooked to the story. Actor Nandu’s cameo is unnecessary in this film. Simran could have done better in emotional scenes. The movie could have been a big hit if the director concentrated more on the second half.
Technical Aspects
Even it is a debut movie of Gnanasagar, he handled it well. Prashanth R Vihari’s music is pleasant and the cinematography by Aravind is impressive. Production values are also good and Ravi Teja Girijala needs to be appreciated for the crispy editing.
Verdict
On the whole, Sehari is a passable rom-com that has a good first half and climax. The situational comedy works out well but the film is filled with lag in multiple scenes. If you ignore this aspect, you can give this romantic drama a shot this weekend.
