Yedu Chepala Katha fame, Abhishek Reddy is back with yet another film titled, Wife, I. The film has hit the screens today. Let’s see how it has anything
Story:
Varma (Abhishek Reddy) an architect by profession, files a police complaint regarding his wife Kavya’s missing case. Later, the proceedings lead to some unexpected and crazy twists in Varma’s life. Who is responsible for the disturbance in Varma’s family life? Will Varma find his wife? That forms the crux of the story.
Plus Points:
Actor Abhishek Reddy, who played the lead role is good with his dialogue delivery and performed decently in the tensed filled character. All his scenes with the cop in the first half are passable with funny conversations. The main heroine, who portrayed Kavya’s role is okay as the nagging wife. Venu, who did the hero’s friend’s role was pretty decent.
One romantic song between Abhishek and the second female lead Gunnjan Aras that comes in the second half of the film will satisfy the targeted audience. Bigg Boss fame Mahesh Vitta evokes decent laughs with his comedy punches in a few areas. The rest of the supporting cast was strictly okay.
Minus Points:
The main minus point of the film is that it lacks proper clarity in the narration. Adding to it, after the good interval twist, everyone expects intense proceedings in the latter half but sadly, the execution during the course of this time is shabby with abrupt scenes.
The main theme of the film gets diluted and becomes worse during the end with a senseless and pathetic narration. Though the initial scenes in the film look passable they are logicless and over the top too. Those who expect a high dose of glamour and skin show will be disappointed completely as something else in a different thread will be going on among the main characters.
Technical Aspects:
Looks like director GSSP Kalyan kick-started the film which out a bounded script and it is clearly visible on the screen because no one understands where the film starts and where it ends. His direction is a big drawback and so was the screenplay. But he should be appreciated for handling multiple tasks like direction, cinematography, and production. Editing is also adequate for this B-grade film. Music by Vinod Yajamanya is decent as his tunes and background score impresses.
Verdict:
On the whole, Wife, I is a very disappointing and shabby outing from Abhishek Reddy and his team. Apart from a few episodes in the first half, the film irritates the audience with abrupt and illogical narration hence making it a terrible watch this weekend. Just stay away from this one.
