IPL 2025

Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) took on Rajasthan Royals (RR) in their first match of IPL 2025 at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Hyderabad. RR captain Riyan Parag won the toss and elected to field first. Riyan Parag would have been disappointed with his decision, as the SRH batters wreaked havoc with their fearless approach on a batting paradise. SRH posted the second-highest team total in IPL history (286), while the first-highest (287) is also under SRH’s name.

Openers Head and Abhishek Agarwal commenced the powerplay in a sensational manner by smashing continuous boundaries. RR bowlers had no clue how to control them, and at the end of 6 overs, SRH scored 94 runs for the loss of one wicket. Even after losing Abhishek Agarwal’s wicket, the momentum didn’t slow down as Ishan Kishan started hitting the ball all over the park.

Ishan Kishan scored a phenomenal century, while Head, Nitish Kumar Reddy, and Klaasen added valuable runs to the team. It looked like every ball was going to the boundary, and the RR bowlers were left totally speechless. People must look at this stat to know the carnage of SRH batsmen. Jofra Archer bowled the most expensive spell ever in IPL history, conceding 74 runs in 4 overs.

RR batsmen Sanju Samson and Dhruv Jurel played superbly, but the team fell short of the mammoth target. Due to mammoth target pressure, RR lost wickets at regular intervals. In the end, Shubham and Hetmyer tried their best with solid shots but couldn’t get their team over the line.

Rajasthan Royals posted a total of 242 for the loss of 6 wickets. SRH achieved victory in their first game, but they might need to look at their bowling issues for the upcoming matches since the winning margin isn’t big despite scoring 286

IPL 2025: RCB registers easy win over KKR in the opening match

IPL 2025: RCB registers easy win over KKR in the opening match

One of the biggest sporting events, the Indian Premier League, kick-started in a grand manner today. The first match of the 18th edition was played by Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in Eden Gardens, Kolkata. Rajat Patidar, captain of RCB, won the toss and elected to field first.

Asked to bat first, KKR scored 174 runs for the loss of 8 wickets. Quinton de Kock was gone cheaply, but KKR captain Ajinkya Rahane and Sunil Narine later created more troubles for RCB bowlers by scoring runs all over the ground. Ajinkya Rahane scored a well-deserved half-century with terrific shots, giving us a glimpse of his CSK knocks.

Just when KKR was cruising through, Krunal Pandya spoiled the batting team’s momentum by picking crucial wickets. Big players Russell, Rinku Singh, and Venkatesh Iyer were dismissed in a short span. At one moment, KKR seemed to score over 220, but RCB bowlers made a solid comeback to restrict them.

RCB batsman started the chase on a thunderous note. Openers Philip Salt and Virat Kohli went hard against KKR bowlers and gave a terrific start for RCB. The game was sealed in the powerplay itself with the openers going all guns blazing. KKR tried to stop the batsman, but as the target wasn’t big, RCB chased it down comfortably within 17 overs for a loss of 3 wickets.

Kohli and Salt scored half-centuries, while captain Rajat Patidar delivered some firecrackers in the end. RCB will surely be pleased with how their players performed and would like to see more of the same throughout the tournament.

KL Rahul

KL Rahul

Since November 2023, Indian Cricket Team (ICT) fans have been going through a traumatic experience of the World Cup final loss against Australia. Many blamed KL Rahul for the loss since he scored just 66 runs in 107 balls. However, the wicket-keeper batsman gave a befitting reply to his haters with his crucial knocks in the semi-final and final of Champions Trophy 2025, which helped India lift the cup after 12 long years.

Buoyed by his impressive display of class and talent, KL Rahul was reportedly asked to lead the Delhi Capitals franchise in IPL 2025. However, Rahul gently rejected the offer and made it clear that he wanted to contribute to the side as a player in the 18th edition of the Indian Premier League. Rahul previously led the Lucknow Super Giants team.

After the franchise released him, Delhi Capitals acquired him for Rs. 14 crores during the auction, up from a base price of Rs. 2 crores. Since Rahul turned down the offer, Axar Patel will likely become the captain. A few reports suggest that KL Rahul will miss a game or two because of his child’s birth.
