Vicky Kaushal’s recently released historical drama, Chhaava, is continuing its dream run at the box office. Also starring Akshaye Khanna and Rashmika Mandanna in lead roles, the biopic on the legendary Maratha warrior Chatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj has caught the entire nation’s attention.
In its eight-day theatrical journey, Chhaava collected a whopping Rs 249.31 crore nett at the domestic box office. The film collected a solid nett at Rs 225.28 crore in its opening week and followed it up with the day 8 collection of Rs 24.03 crore. Chhaava has surpassed Vicky Kaushal’s previous highest grosser, Uri: The Surgical Strike, to emerge as the highest grosser in Vicky’s career to date.
Chhaava is directed by Laxman Utekar and produced by Dinesh Vijan under the Maddock Films banner. AR Rahman has composed the music. Released on February 14, the film has so far grossed over Rs 350 crores globally and has set its eyes firmly on the Rs 500 crore club.
