Today marks the 20th anniversary of Allu Arjun and Sukumar’s blockbuster romantic drama, Arya. Fans of the duo are trending various hashtags, and producer Dil Raju is planning a special event to celebrate this special occasion.
This morning, Allu Arjun took to X and went nostalgic about the movie that changed the world. “20 years of Arya. It’s not just a movie … it’s a moment in time that changed the course of my life . Gratitude forever,” Bunny tweeted.
Arya was made with a meager budget of Rs 4 crore, and it went on to gross over Rs 30 crore worldwide. The film paved the way for one of the most successful actor-director duos in Telugu Cinema, Allu Arjun and Sukumar. Anu Mehta and Siva Balaji played key roles in the movie, while DSP composed a winning soundtrack. The film’s sequel, Arya 2, was released in cinemas in 2009 and ended up being a decent grosser.
