Lover boy Tarun, has been going through a rough phase in his career. He is once again trying his luck with Natti Kumar’s Yuddham. This movie also stars the late Sri Hari and Yami Gautam in other lead roles. This romantic entertainer has released amidst a host of other releases today. Let’s see whether Tarun makes his comeback or not.

Story:-

Shankar Anna(Sri Hari) is a messiah of the masses, who always fights for their well being. His only priority in life, is his younger sister Madhumita(Yami Gautam).

On the other hand, Rishi(Tarun) is a student union leader, who falls for Madhumita during one of his college problems. Even Madhumita develops feelings for Rishi, and by the time she decides to reveal her love, Rishi’s brother lands his eye on Madhumita.

He comes back home and tells Rishi that he is in love, and has decided to marry the girl whom he just saw. Will Rishi find out that the girl his brother wants to marry is Madhumita ? Will he sacrifice his love for his family ? How will he convince Madhumita ? Will Rishi go against Shankar Anna ?

For answers to all these questions, you need to watch this film on the big screen.

Plus Points:-

As usual, Tarun looks handsome and carries off his role to perfection. He is the only saving grace of this film, and is exceptional in the emotional scenes.

Sri Hari does his best and gives in a honest performance. Interval bang and the first 15 minutes into the second half is quite interesting.

Minus Points:-

Though Yami Gautam has an important role, she does not carry it off well. She is extremely bad with her dances and expressions. Her chemistry with Tarun also does not have any effect.

For the first fifteen minutes, the film never takes off. Routine scenes and characterizations, come and go into the film.Yet another major irritating factor of the film, is the comedy track of Krishna Bhagvan and Venu Madhav. It is completely over the top and could have been totally avoided.

The way emotions are handled in the film is quite ordinary. Major actors like Chandra Mohan and Giri Babu have pretty much nothing to do in the film.

Technical Aspects:-

Camera work is quite decent in the film. Songs are peppy and have also been shot well. Background score is just about OK, and so is the editing.

Screenplay of the film is quite bad. As said above, unnecessary scenes comes into the film out of no where, and cause a huge hindrance to the film.

Dubbing is horrible in the film. Major actor’s voices have been dubbed, which looks odd on screen. After having a decent story line, director Bharti Ganesh could not execute this film well. He does not focus on the script and lets go of the grip completely.

The so called twists and turns that are showcased, are also not that interesting. Certain scenes and characters in the film do not add any weight to the film.

Verdict:-

On the whole, Yudhham is not a film that Tarun would have wanted to make a comeback with. Routine storyline and some unnecessary and forced humour spoils the narrative completely. You can safely ignore this film, and watch it when it comes on TV.
