Real Star Srihari’s socio fantasy entertainer ‘Yamaho Yama’ , with Sai Ram Shankar and Parvati Melton in key roles , has released today. The movie has been directed by Jithender and Mahathi has composed the music. Incidentally, Srihari has played a number of characters in this movie –> Yama, Batman, Bumblebee (Transformers) etc. Let us see how this fantasy is.

Story :

Balu (Sai Ram Shankar) is a young lad who is fated to die at the age of 25, as per his horoscope. In order to prevent this, his grandmother (Rama Prabha) makes him a devotee of Lord Yama (Srihari) in order to avert this. As Balu approaches the age of 25 years, Ram Prabha decides to send the young lad to USA. Balu roams around without any responsibilities and ends up as a good for nothing lad.

In order to mend Balu’s ways, none other than Lord Yama enters the fray. He decides to travel to the USA and help out the kid. But even the great Yama fails to mend Balu and that is when he realises that Balu needs to fall in love to become a better person.

He makes Balu fall in love with Swapna (Parvati Melton) and the rest of the movie is about how Balu becomes a better person.

Plus Points :

Srihari has performed decently as Lord Yama and his dialogue delivery is good. Some sentimental scenes between Srihari and Sai ram Shankar are ok.

Thagubothu Ramesh makes a brilliant cameo appearance towards the very end and makes everyone laugh. Sanjana sizzles in one song and M.S.Narayana’s bathroom comedy scenes are ok.

Minus Points :

This movie is a great example of how not to write a movie story. The barbarious plot is so insane that even a 5 year old can identify the many errors in it. Srihari’s getups as Batman, Bumblebee etc. are comically bad.

Sairam Shankar’s introduction atop a tiger does not work and perhaps even a top notch mass hero will not be able to pull that scene off. The Tiger rides off into the forest after Sairam Shankar sings a song for it. Is it because of the song or is it because of something else? We will leave that for you to decide.

Parvati Melton looks like a skeleton and her performance is terrible. She needs to put on some weight immediately if she wants to survive in this industry.

Sanjana’s character has absolutely no necessity and she sleepwalks through her role. Lord Manmadha speaks in obscene language like ‘dobbinchukunnam’ etc. and it sounds quite odd.

If the boy is fated to die at 25, will shifting to America prevent that? Does that mean Lord Yama has no jurisdiction there? Please don’t think about the logic as you may get a headache.

Graphics work in this movie is terrible.

Technical Aspects :

Cinematography in the first half is bad but it is ok in the second half. Production values of the film are pathetic and the movie does not have any richness at all. Editing is just about ok.

Jithender’s direction is very poor and he just does not have any command over how to narrate a story. As said before, graphics quality is very poor. Mahathi’s background score is ok.

Verdict :

Films made on Lord Yamadharma Raja generally tend to do well in Telugu but it looks like this film will break that sentiment. This film will test your patience and insult your intelligence. Avoid it unless you want to experience visual torture.
