Mahesh-Babu

Mahesh Babu is a busy man these days. He is aggressively promoting his latest flick Srimanthudu which is up for release on August 7th. On this occasion, we caught up with him for a detailed interview. Let’s see what he has to say.

Q) What is the reason behind promoting Srimantudu so aggressively ?

Whenever you have a good product in hand, you need to reach out to more audience and expand the film.

Q) Any particular reason behind you co-producing this film ?

I have always produced films in the past with my brother and sister. The only difference this time is that my name will be seen as a producer.

Q) What attracted you towards this script ?

As soon as Shiva narrated me this script, I knew I had winner in hand and okayed the film right away. The emotions and my character in the film have a lot of depth and connect with everyone.

Q) How was the whole experience working with Kortala Shiva ?

I had to unlearn a lot for this role and Shiva gave me good suggestions to go about my character. In fact, I enjoyed a lot shooting for the film which has a lot of novelty and universal appeal.

Q) Tell us about your chemistry with Shruthi Haasan ?

Shruthi is a terrific performer and is a very talented soul. I had a great time working with her and our pairing is being liked by one and all.

Q) Jagapathi Babu plays your father in the film. Tell us about that ?

Firstly, I would like to thank him for accepting this role. I had a lovely time working with him and our pairing as father and son looks quite fresh.

Q) Is adopting a village inspired from real life ?

No! It was just a coincidence. I adopted a village on the suggestion of my brother in law Jayadev.

Q) What is the reason behind dubbing the film in Tamil ?

Our cameraman Madhie suggested us to dub the film in Tamil to expand my market. We liked the idea and I am going to Chennai to promote my film on a larger scale.

Q) Do failures affect you. How do you come out from them ?

Of course they affect me. But I try to analyze the mistakes and mend my ways in my upcoming films.

Q) When can we see you in meaningful films like Bajrangi Bhaijaan ?

Frankly, whenever I have tried something new like Nani, Nenokkadine and Takkari Donga, it did not go well with the audience. I will surely do such films whenever something very interesting comes my way.

Q) Will you ever remake Alluri Seetarama Raju ?

Alluri Seetarama Raju is like a bible for me. I would never try to repeat it and leave it like a classic.
