The success of Bhale Manchi Roju has done wonders to the career of heroine Wamiqa Gabbi. We met up with the Punjabi actress for a brief interview. Let’s see what she has to say.
Q) How did you bag this offer ?
I am a Punjabi actress from Chandigarh and have done a few films there. After the success of my film with Yo Yo Honey Singh, I got a Tamil offer. While I was shooting for that film, the makers of Bhale Manchi Roju approached me for this role.
Q) How challenging was your role ?
It was quite a challenging role as the language was new and I was in a single costume throughout the film. I had to dance in it and also had chase sequences to do. But the entire experience was great and I learnt a lot on this film.
Q) What kind of compliments are you getting after the success of the film ?
Right before the film released, Prabhas sir saw the film and appreciated my dances and screen presence. I was on cloud nine and this grew superb confidence in me to face the release pressure.
Q) Recently, you went on a success tour. How was the response ?
The response was amazing. We went to Vizag and the surrounding areas. I was thrilled to see the response of the audience who were laughing their hearts out during the film.
Q) How was it working with debutante director Sriram Aditya ?
Oh ! I had a great time working with him. He never behaved like a director and helped me throughout the working of this film. All his assistants took special care of me and also helped me with my Telugu lines.
Q) What kind of roles do you want to do in the future ?
I am a complete’s directors actor. I have no inhibitions and am ready to fit in his vision and do complete justice to the film. It is not about the length of my role but it is the weight which it carries in the film.
Q) What are your future projects ?
My Tamil film Maalai Nerathu Mayakkaam is up for release tomorrow and in Telugu, I am yet to sign a project.
