In recent times, Tollywood is witnessing the success of small films which are made with good content. Nenostha is one such small film which has hit the screens today. Let’s see whether this crime thriller impresses us or not.
Story :
Chetan(Surya Srinivas) and Nayan (Priyanka Pallavi) are a couple who are going through some tough times in their relationship. In order to set things right, they plan a five-day romantic trip to an unknown location.
During their journey, an unknown person joins them along. Within no time, the couple finds out that he is a psycho and leave him behind. But to their bad luck, the psycho keeps following them everywhere.
Who is this psycho? What does he have to do with the couple? and how do the love birds escape from him?. That forms the rest of the story.
Plus Points :
Director Parand Kalyan’s idea of mixing crime factor in a love story is okay. The psycho approaching the couple and they getting into trouble have been showcased well. Interval episode is engaging and the second half has some interesting moments.
The reasons that made the psycho turn into one are showcased with an interesting backdrop. Child harassment and what impact will it have on the society are projected well. The director tried hard to keep the thrill factor in some parts which look okay.
Minus points :
The director who succeeded in writing a good crime story totally fails in adding right ingredients to the proceedings. Crime thrillers should have a racy screenplay with a gripping narration but Nenostha fails in that aspect and offers some routine scenes and predictable screenplay.
Except for the interesting beginning, the film does not have much going its way. The psycho appears in almost every scene dilutes the impact of his role. The love track between the lead pair looks quite fake at times as there is no proper chemistry between them. The flashback that comes during the climax will put you off at once.
Technical aspects :
Director Parand Kalyan’s story is good but his execution is below par. He makes the film go overboard many a time and adds some very unnecessary items right throughout the film. Music by Anurag Vineel is not up to the mark. Camera work by Srinivas Reddy is adequate. S.J.Shiva Kiran’s editing is ok and could have been better. Production values are good.
Verdict :
On the whole, Nenostha is a weak and predictable crime thriller which disappoints with its lack-lustre screenplay and outdated narration. Except for some crime scenes here and there, this film has nothing much to offer and can be ignored this weekend.
