The promos of Jagapathi Babu’s Patel SIR have been creating quite a good buzz all over. The film is carrying a decent buzz as it is being produced by Sai Korrapati. The film is ready for a release tomorrow and on this occasion, we met the handsome JB for an exclusive interview. Let’s see what he has to say.

There is a good buzz for the film. How tense are you?

To be frank, I am very tense as I am playing a lead hero’s role after a very long time. I am very eager to find out how the audience will receive me in such an important role. On the other hand, the positive buzz for the film is only because of producer Sai Korrapati who has spent so much on the promotions of the film.

What made you accept Patel SIR?

It was none other than Sai Korrapati and my director’s conviction that I could pull off a role like this. They had such huge faith in me and I want this film to be a huge hit for them.

Tell us more about the film?

Well, Patel SIR is a basic revenge drama but the treatment and screenplay are quite new. The little girl shown in the teasers plays a very crucial role along with Tanya Hope who is a cop in the film. Apart from this, I cannot reveal much about the film.

How confident are you about the film’s success?

I am very confident and can surely say that the film will be a good hit all over. I have seen the product and the basic emotions and family drama will surely be appreciated by one and all. The undercurrent emotions in the film are very strong.

Times have changed and how do you see films releasing amidst tough competition?

I always feel that if both the films are good, the audience will watch both of them. The only difference is that the second film will be watched a day later. Sometimes it is good to have competition but I am not worried at all as I have passed that phase now.

Your look is creating wonders. Tell us about that?

The first thing I told the director is that my look should be quite unique and stylish. I had the basic idea in mind and Alexzander my hair stylist gave me this look. More than the look, my appearance will showcase a certain attitude of my character in the film.

What are your criteria for selecting scripts these days?

I have a simple funda. My role should be quite important after the main hero’s role. Once I get that feeling, I do not mind doing any role in the film. The same happened with Legend and Sukumar’s Nannaku Premato as both my characters stood out.

What keeps you inspiring these days?

I am a huge fan of Amitabh Bachchan and want to do roles like him. Even though he is playing elderly roles, they are heroes in their own way. I want to be like him and also feel that I have a lot of similarities with him in both with voice and career growth wise.

Who in this generation heroes has impressed you the most?

It is undoubtedly Allu Arjun. Look at him and his career graph. I feel that he has made it to the top without using his mega lineage. Be it his looks, dances or performance, he has struggled to the top and his hard work shows in every scene. Apart from him, Nani is one good actor these days and is performing supremely well in all his roles.

Social media has changed a lot how often do your read stuff written about you?

I don’t read any reviews or whatever gossip is written about me. If there is anything important, my team informs me about them.

Bollywood is one industry which you did not try your hand at. Any reason?

I got a lot of offers but did not find anything interesting. I am waiting for the right opportunity and am very interested in doing a Hindi film.

Future projects?

I am doing Ram Charan’s next and also have a film with Vijay and many more projects which will be announced soon in Telugu.

Finally, sum up Patel SIR for us?

Everyone is having a misconception that Patel SIR is a racy thriller. Even though there are many fights, our film is an emotional family drama told in a stylish manner. I am really confident that the audience will surely appreciate my work after a long time.

With that, we ended our interview with Jagapathi Babu and wished him the best of luck for his future projects.
