Akkineni Nagarjuna is a busy bee as he is doing everything possible to give his son Akhil a huge hit with Hello. On this occasion, we caught up with Nag for a detailed interview. Here is the transcript.

How has the film shaped up?

The film has shaped up quite well and I am hugely satisfied with the outcome. After going through a bad phase early in his career, Akhil has worked hard on his comeback and will surely prove himself with this film.

Looks like you have spent a lot on the film?

Yes! I have gone all out on this film as it is a very crucial film in Akhil’s career. Also, the stunts in the movie are top notch and Hollywood technicians have been brought on board. All these have cost us a lot.

What was Chiranjeevi’s response after watching the film?

No one knew that Chiranjeevi had watched the film. After the screening, he silently came to Akhil and hugged him for about two minutes. That gesture said it all and made me very emotional. I was finally relieved and felt so happy.

Whose idea was to approach Vikram Kumar to direct Hello?

I wanted Vikram to launch Akhil right after the success of Manam. But as he was busy with 24, things did not happen. Now, finally, when I wanted to relaunch Akhil, Vikram was the first and only choice.

How has he presented Akhil in Hello?

All these days, I wanted to see Akhil in a very particular manner but things did not happen in his first film. But Vikram showcased Akhil as a complete actor in this film. You will be quite impressed with Akhil’s performance in the film.

Highlights of the film?

One of the biggest highlights of the film will definitely be the action sequences which are a first of its kind in Tollywood. The way Vikram Kumar has used them in the narrative is quite good. Apart from this, the beautiful love story will stand apart.
