On the eve of Sai Dharam Tej’s Intteligent’s release, we caught up with the film’s director V. V. Vinayak for a detailed interview. Here is the transcript.

How has the film shaped up?

I saw the first copy yesterday and am extremely happy with the way the film has shaped up. I am very confident that the film will be a good hit at the box office impressing everyone.

How is the film going to be?

The film is all about the fight of a young man and how he dethrones the villain through his intelligent schemes. The film has all the basic commercial elements which you expect in my movies. There is dance, fights and moreover, the comedy will surely leave you in splits.

About working with Tej?

Tej is a very hard working actor who always tries to give his best. He has done a terrific job with his performances and dances. In one song, he will remind everyone of his uncle Chiranjeevi garu. With this film, it will be proved that Tej can carry a big budget film on his shoulders quite easily.

A word about Thaman’s music?

I share a very good rapport with Thaman as I have worked with him in Nayak. In this film too, he has given some very peppy songs which will be liked by all the masses.

Why have you cut down on writing your own scripts?

There is a lot of talent outside and once needs to work with everyone. The same is the case with me too. I need to come out of my comfort zone and work with outside writers so that we get fresh output.

Heard that you are entering politics?

Laughs! As of now, I have no interest at all. This news became a hot topic because of my friend Kodali Nani who jokingly said that I was entering politics.
