Comedy heroes Allari Naresh and Sunil are sharing screen space in an out-and-out comic caper, titled Silly Fellows. Senior director Bheemaneni Srinivasa Rao has directed this film, which is up for a September 7th release. On this occasion, we had a detailed interview with Sunil. Here is the transcript.

Q) After almost a decade gap, you are back with comedy roles. Tell us about it?

A) Actually, after Andala Ramudu’s success, many people approached me with hero roles. However, I didn’t sign any film that time. But after Maryada Ramanna, I started doing main lead roles. In the process, filmmakers stopped approaching me for comedian roles and I continued playing hero. I was very clear from day one that I’m here to do any kind of roles and never restricted myself to specific characters.

Q) Coming to Silly Fellows, what is the film all about?

A) It’s an out and out fun entertainer. Don’t except logics and enjoy the magic in the film. We made the film only to entertain audiences and I hope it won’t disappoint them. It’s a complete hilarious flick.

Q) Tell us about your role?

A) My character will be a sidekick to Naresh’s role. To be frank, he is the hero, but his every situation is interlinked with my role. If you remember mine and Srikanth’s Aaduthu Paaduthu, though Srikanth is the main lead, my role also had equal importance. You can expect the same from this film.

Q) Working experience with Allari Naresh?

A) We both acted in a couple of films earlier, but after Thotti Gang, I’m doing a full-length role along with Naresh. We both share a good rapport and I enjoyed working with him.

Q) What is your well-wishers reaction after hearing about your decision to re-enter as a comedian?

A) All of them are happy as they wanted to see me in those vintage kind of roles again. Even during my recent trip to the US, many people expressed their wish to see me in comic roles. Personally, I have a lot of freedom being a comedian and I can explore myself in various roles which are otherwise not possible being a hero. Moreover, as a comedian, my only moto will be to entertain audience irrespective of the film’s box office verdict. So I’m happy to be back as a comedian.

Q) You accepted Aravindha Sametha just because Trivikram is your good friend?

A) Yes. Trivikram knows that I’m planning on doing comic roles and he penned this character for me. More than that, working with NTR is a memorable experience every time. Though we acted in a very few films earlier, personally we both share a good rapport. He is a soulful and clean hearted person and always treated me like his buddy. I Should thank both NTR and Trivikram for encouraging me to do this role comfortably.

Q) Tell us about your role in Aravindha Sametha?

A) I will be seen throughout the film as the hero’s friend. Trivikram has written my character in such a dignified manner that you won’t see any loud comedy in it. My character will not make any comedy but the situations which I face in the film will make audiences laugh.

Q) Actually you missed a role in Khaidi No. 150. Can we expect to see you in Chiranjeevi’s next film, Sye Raa?

A) No. I’m not doing Sye Raa. Maybe I may do Chiranjeevi gari next film.

Q) Apart from Aravindha Sametha, what other films are you presently doing?

A) I’m doing Srinu Vaitla’s AAA in which you can expect a few hilarious episodes between me and Ravi Teja. Apart from it, I will be seen in a fun role in Sharwanand’s Padi Padi Leche Manasu.
