Ravi Teja is back with his new film Amar Akbar Anthony. As the film is ready for a release soon, we caught up with the star hero for a detailed interview. Here is the transcript.
What made you choose AAA in the first place?
For me to do any project, I should like the story first. The same happened when Sreenu Vailta narrated me the script. I saw a lot of potential in the story and gave my inputs as well. Once Sreenu made those small changes, we went on floors.
Out of the three roles in AAA which character did you enjoy the most?
Personally, I like the Amar character the most as it has a lot of intensity. All the three roles have come out quite well and the manner in which Sreenu Vaitla has narrated them is the highlight of the film.
Did you have any assumptions to work with Sreenu Vaitla as he was going through a bad time?
I never treat any director in that manner. Even I have given flops in the past and I can surely tell that Sreenu Vaitla will not disappoint this time as he worked on his weaknesses and has come out with a good story line.
What new can we expect from this film?
Apart from Sreenu Vaitla’s trademark comedy, you can expect solid emotions in the film. Sreenu has given the film a right dose of entertainment and has narrated the film in such a way that it will please everyone.
Tell us about Thaman’s music?
Thaman has given a wonderful background score for the film. I cannot believe that he has completed 100 films till now. Even though he received a lot of flack in between, he has matured now and is giving top-notch music these days.
When can we see you doing negative roles?
I have no restrictions in doing such roles but I feel that I have still some time left before I take that transition. In the future, you will see me doing all sorts of roles and the only thing is that my character should be strong.
Aren’t you tired of doing the same old comedy entertainers?
No, I am not as that is my strength. In the past, I have tried many experimental films like Autograph and Shambo Shiva Sankara but all of them flopped. I only do films which people like to see me in.
Are you doing the Theri remake?
No, I am not doing the film as of now. My only film after this is the V I Anand film which will kick start its shoot soon.
Who is your best critic regarding your work?
All those who are close to me say it on my face when they do not like my film. Apart from this, my son is the best critic and he will be the first one to say when I go wrong.
