Vishnu Induri has been producing some good films like NTR biopic, Jayalalitha biopic and a film on the life of Kapil Dev. On this occasion, we caught up with him for a detailed interview. Here is the transcript.

Firstly, what went wrong with NTR biopic?

The way we made the film in two parts itself was a big mistake. We got this thought halfway through the making and went ahead with it which did not work out. In this process, the soul of the film went missing and the film came crashing down. Other factors like too much negativity on TDP also killed the movie. It was a collective decision to make the film in two parts and things would have been good if the film came as one movie.

Tell us about the status of 83 the movie?

The film is based on the life of Kapil Dev and how he won India its maiden world cup. We recently wrapped up a 100-day long schedule of the film. With this, 80% of the shoot has been wrapped up. We release the film on April 10th, 2020.

What’s your part in selecting your projects which have been mostly biopics?

All three biopics associated with me have been my ideas. It was my thought to make these biopics and I took the idea to several writers and directors to make the films for us. The basic seed comes from me and everything is done in collaboration.

Update on Jayalalitha biopic?

We start the shoot in the month of October and Kangana plays the main lead. Vijayendra Prasad is writing the script and some of the top names in the country will be playing key roles. Kangana is learning Tamil and Bharatnatyam as of now. The film will be made in Tamil and Hindi and will showcase the life of Jayalalitha until she becomes the CM for the first time.

As the reports suggest, is Kangana giving you a hard time?

All these are rumors. Kangana has surely given some inputs which are valuable and we have taken them into consideration. She is going through a big makeover in the film and there is no wrong in she having a lot of doubts about the film.

Who will play the role of MGR in the film?

Talks are on and a big hero will be playing this part which we will announce very soon. The story is shaping up quite well and will have superb drama which has been specially designed keeping all the historical facts in mind.
