Continuing the trend of low-budget films, today’s pick is Sampoornesh Babu’s Bazaar Rowdy. The film is out and let’s see how it is.

Story:

Kali(Sampoornesh Babu) is a troublesome kid right from his childhood. His father(Nagineedu) gets upset and keeps hitting him all the time. After injuring one of his friends in school, Kali fears his father’s beating and leaves the house. He then is brought up in a small Basti and becomes Bazaaru Rowdy. This is also the time when Kali’s uncles plan to loot his property and rope, Kali and take him to his own house to act as a dupe. How will Kali know that he is going on his own and how does he handle his uncles is the basic story.

Plus Points:

Sampoor does a sincere job as always. He gets to play different avatars in this film and performs to the best of his capabilities. Sayaji Shinde, Prudhiv, and the late Kathi Mahesh play the uncles and the chemistry between them is good.

When compared to the first half, the second half makes some sense. A few comedy scenes click here and there. Sampoo and the way his character of a rich man gets elevated is good.

Minus Points:

We all go to watch Sampoo’s some spoof comedy and enjoy the fun elevation scenes. Though the film has all those, none of the scenes make any sense as the film and narration are stuck in the ’80s.

The first half is just filled with elevation scenes of Sampoo and even the noted comedian looks lost and is uncomfortable doing all the Hungama. The film’s second half is a spoof of Rowdy Alludu and one can say it is the cheaper version.

The film is filled with so many cheap scenes related to the heroine and the way comedy is generated through it. There is absolutely no novelty in the story and everything looks so forced.

Technical Aspects:

Production values of the film are below par. Music is worse and so is the BGM. The dialogues are okay and the costumes designed for Sampoo are horrible. Editing is pathetic as so many scenes could have been easily chopped off.

Coming to the director Vasanta Nageswara Rao, he has done a disappointing job with the film. Having an actor like Sampoo, he did not make proper use of him as the fun angle we look for in Sampoo’s films is missing totally.

Verdict:

On the whole, Bazaar Rowdy is a poorly made comedy-drama that does not make any sense. Sampoo tries hard to make things work but the silly execution and lack of proper comedy spoil the mood of the audience in no time and makes this film a dull and silly watch this weekend.
