Pan-India star Prabhas starrer Radhe Shyam is up for a grand theatrical release on March 11, 2022, worldwide. On this occasion, we met with the movie’s actress, Pooja Hegde, for a brief interview. Here is the transcript.

Tell us about your role in Radhe Shyam?

My character name in this movie is Prerana. It’s an interesting role that has different shades, depth and emotions. I did so much research for this character and it has changed me a lot.

Do you believe in astrology?

Yes, I do. I believe that our Indian culture is so great. Our ancestors found and discovered a lot of things even before the invention of the telescope. There exist a lot of examples to prove the viability of horoscopes.

Working experience with star heroes in Telugu?

Jr NTR is an amazing actor and is energetic also. He okays any scene in a single take. Besides, Allu Arjun is also an energetic actor. Coming to Prabhas, he is so shy but also funny. When some people from the team got affected by Covid in Italy, Prabhas used to send food to all of them and my mother also felt happy for this lovely gesture.

What did you find challenging in Radhe Shyam?

The movie was shot in both Telugu and Hindi simultaneously. I felt it very difficult in doing the same scenes in 2 different languages immediately. When I did an emotional scene in the Telugu version, director Radhe Shyam immediately asked to do the same in Hindi with the same intensity. The scenes are same but the magic is different.

How did you react when people compared the film with Titanic?

If you see any ship is sinking, you will connect to the Titanic tragedy. However, it’s great that people are comparing Radhe Shyam with such a classic movie. Radhe Shyam is not Titanic but the only similarity is ship.

How do you feel for calling you a pan-India actress?

Nothing like that. I wanted to do movies in all languages and if the content is good, I accept the film irrespective of language. But, I love to do more movies in Telugu because I started my career in Tollywood. I learned a lot from the Telugu industry.

Tell us about Pawan Kalyan-Harish Shankar’s movie?

You should ask Harish about this. It’s not the right time to comment on it.

Being a woman actress, which kind of movies will you do?

I wanted to do movies that inspire women. Legendary actresses like Savitri garu and Hema Malini garu did many female-oriented movies, that were also successful economically. I feel that my role in Aravinda Sametha is so powerful.

Future Projects?

A project with Trivikram Srinivas is confirmed. I have some other movies in my kitty which will be announced soon.
