After creating a lot of buzz in Sandalwood, Sapta Sagaradaache Ello – Side A has now hit Telugu screens as Sapta Sagaralu Dhaati – Side A. Delve into our review to discover how the film fared.

Story:

Manu (Rakshit Shetty) works as a car driver for a wealthy family, while Priya (Rukmini Vasanth) is a college student with aspirations of becoming a singer. They love each other deeply and dream of building a home by the sea in Priya’s hometown. In a twist of fate, Manu makes a life-altering decision for their future. What is this decision? Is Priya aware of it? Did it turn out well or not? The movie will unveil these answers.

Plus Points:

Some films have simple premises but gain depth through compelling storytelling, and Sapta Sagaralu Dhaati is one such film. It’s a touching love story told with emotional resonance.

Regarding performance, Rakshit Shetty deserves applause for his portrayal of a modest individual who makes a tough decision for a brighter future. He doesn’t just act; he becomes the character, taking us on a journey through his pain.

Rukmini Vasanth delivers an exceptional performance with her expressive looks and captivating beauty. She perfectly embodies a middle-class woman with a clear sense of purpose.

Pavitra Lokesh’s character may be smaller compared to the lead actors, but she leaves a subtle yet significant impact on the film.

Sharath Lohitashwa, Ramesh Indira, Achyuth Kumar, and the supporting cast contributed their best to make the movie engaging.

The film’s beauty lies in its poetic narrative, showcasing a mature and heartfelt connection between the lead pair. The soulful score by Charan Raj enhances the emotional impact. The climax is well-crafted and stands out as a major highlight, and the dubbing seamlessly blends with the Telugu context. Above all, the chemistry between the lead pair is delightful to watch.

Minus Points:

While the story’s simplicity is its strength, the pacing can appear slow at times, leaving some viewers wondering why it isn’t moving faster.

Characters portrayed by Achyut Kumar, Sharath, and Pavitra Lokesh could have been given more screen time to enrich the story further.

In both halves, a few scenes may give a sense of repetition, although they are crucial for carrying forward the emotions built in the preceding scenes.

The film lacks conventional commercial elements like comedy and mass appeal, making it suitable only for a specific audience.

Technical Aspects:

Director Hemanth M Rao deserves credit for effectively conveying a simple story through a poetic narrative. His direction succeeds in evoking the desired emotions from the audience.

Charan Raj’s music and score are the unsung heroes of the film, elevating scenes and leaving a lasting impression. Cinematographer Advaitha Gurumurthy’s work is simply brilliant.

Editors Sunil Bharadwaj and Hemanth M Rao could have trimmed some scenes in the second half to maintain a more engaging pace. The production values are commendable, and the art department deserves special mention.

Verdict:

On the whole, Sapta Sagaralu Dhaati – Side A is a slow but passable love tale with decent performances and good technical aspects. However, the slow-paced screenplay in both halves and the occasional repetitive scenes in the second half may not appeal to all audiences. If you are fine with these aspects, try it this weekend.
