Krishnamma, featuring Satyadev in the lead role, has hit theaters today. The Koratala Siva presentation has attracted enough attention before its release. Explore our review to see how the film fares.

Story:

Bhadra (Satyadev), Koti (Meesala Lakshman), and Shiva (Krishna Teja Reddy) share a poignant bond, having grown up as orphans and close friends. While Shiva remains on the straight and narrow, Bhadra and Koti get entangled in the dangerous world of smuggling in Vijayawada. Their world turns upside down when the police swoop in, accusing them of a crime that rattles the city. Sentenced to 14 years without knowing the full story, their fate hangs in the balance. As the plot thickens, questions abound: What secrets lie behind their arrest? Why were they targeted? And what’s Bhadra’s next move? The movie holds the answers.

Plus Points:

Satyadev immerses himself in yet another captivating role, embodying the essence and dialect of Vijayawada residents. His mass appeal and dedication shine through as he pours his heart and soul into the film.

Meesala Lakshman’s portrayal of Koti brings humour to the screen with his impeccable timing. Krishna Teja Reddy’s performance as Shiva is acceptable, and Nanda Gopal’s portrayal of the menacing ACP adds depth to the narrative.

Athira Raj adds grace and significance to her role as Krishna Teja Reddy’s love interest, enriching the storyline. The supporting cast delivers fine performances throughout.

Minus Points:

Krishnamma could have benefited from a more dynamic screenplay to elevate its conventional revenge drama plot.

Despite some effective dialogues, the film lacks the gritty fight scenes expected in a Vijayawada backdrop.

Satyadev’s mass appeal doesn’t fully translate into engaging action sequences, missing opportunities to captivate the audience.

Certain emotional scenes among friends could have been depicted more effectively to convey the depth of their bond. The rushed and underdeveloped climax fails to resonate emotionally with the audience.

Technical Aspects:

Director VV Gopala Krishna’s execution is okay, but a more dynamic screenplay could have elevated the film’s impact. Tighter editing with sharper cuts could have improved the pacing. The cinematography by Sunny Kurapati is satisfactory, and the production values meet expectations.

Verdict:

On the whole, Krishnamma offers a revenge drama that captures attention only to a certain extent, thanks to Satyadev’s decent performance. However, the film is let down by its dull screenplay and emotional resonance. It’s recommended primarily for hardcore fans of revenge action dramas, and others can look out for other entertainment options.
