Vijay Deverakonda and Parasuram’s Family Star ended up being a massive loss venture for all the involved parties. The actor and director’s first film, Geetha Govindam, was a big blockbuster, and hence, there were massive expectations on Family Star right from its announcement. But sadly, the family drama failed to live up to the hype.

Not only was it a commercial failure, but a few scenes in the movie tarnished Vijay’s reputation. The latest update is that Family Star will have its world television premiere on 16th June (Sunday) on Star Maa at 6 PM. The bad performance in theatres made the makers opt for an early digital release on Prime Video. We should see if Family Star can attract the small screen audience.

Mrunal Thakur played the leading lady. Family Star also features Jagapathi Babu, Vasuki, Abhinaya, Divyansha Kaushik, and Vennela Kishore in pivotal roles. Ace producer Dil Raju bankrolled the film under Sri Venkateswara Creations. Gopi Sundar provided the tunes.
