Kalki 2898 AD was released yesterday to sensational reviews, and the team is thrilled with the response. Movie buffs have praised Nag Ashwin for intertwining mythology and sci-fi. Since the film includes elements of the mythological epic Mahabharata, the audience has shown keen interest in learning more about it.
Meanwhile, many fans have taken to social media to urge Rajamouli to announce a movie on Mahabharata, which he has referred to as his dream project and potentially his last work.
A few years ago, the RRR director mentioned that it is impossible to tell Mahabharata in a single film and that it would need to be a 10-film series with fresh faces molded to fit the characters and their nature.
Now, as Kalki 2898 AD has touched upon Mahabharata, Rajamouli’s dream project is being widely discussed online among netizens, with many tagging the master storyteller to announce the project, believing it could be the most incredible Indian movie of all time.
The ball is in Rajamouli’s court, and he is in no hurry to bring Mahabharata to the big screen. Currently, he is working on his next big project (SSMB 29) with Mahesh Babu. We will need to wait a few more years for Rajamouli’s official announcement regarding the Mahabharata project.
