Well-made horror comedies have always found acceptance among the Hindi audience. Irrespective of the star cast, many such movies have set the cash registers ringing, and a recent example for it is Munjya. It stars Abhay Verma and Sharvari Wagh in the lead roles. The movie’s box office trend is just unbelievable as it went from strength to strength with each passing day.
Munjya opened with 4 crores nett, and it cemented its position at the box office by having a solid hold on weekdays. The second weekend collections of Munjya are bigger than the first weekend numbers of Kartik Aaryan’s Chandu Champion, which tells the kind of reception the former has received. Munjya didn’t stop there and started its race towards the 100 crore mark.
With the arrival of Prabhas’ Kalki 2898 AD, everyone expected Munjya’s run would come to an end. Even though the Aditya Sarpotdar’s directorial lost majority of the screens to Kalki, it is still drawing crowds to the theatres in limited shows. On its day 25, Munjya crossed the 100 crore nett mark in India. After Fighter and Shaitaan, this is the third film from Bollywood to achieve this milestone this year.
