Kalki 2898 AD, featuring Prabhas, Amitabh Bachchan, Deepika Padukone, and Kamal Haasan, has taken the Indian box office by storm. Nag Ashwin directed this flick which is a blend of mythology and sci-fi elements. There are a few Mahabharata portions in this biggie. Tamil actor Krishnakumar Balasubramanian portrayed Lord Sri Krishna in the film, but his face was not revealed.
In a recent interview, Nag Ashwin revealed the reason why he didn’t depict the face of Lord Krishna. Nag Ashwin said, “The idea was always to keep him a silhouette and formless without an identity. Otherwise, it just becomes a person or an actor. The idea was always to keep him dark-skinned and show him as a mysterious figure.”
Nag Ashwin added, “There is no plan to reveal the face, and we will continue to depict him as a silhouette.” Though Krishnakumar’s face was not revealed, the role was well received by the audience, and Arjun Das’ dubbing for this special character was the icing on the cake.
