Indian 2 is the upcoming Kollywood movie featuring Kamal Haasan in the lead role. Directed by Shankar Shanmugam, the vigilante action thriller is set for a grand release in multiple languages in theaters on July 12, 2024. At the moment, the film has a decent buzz.

During the promotions in Singapore, Kamal Haasan openly stated that he did Indian 2 because of Indian 3 and that he was more excited for the release of the third installment. Some people misinterpreted his statement and formed an opinion that Indian 2 would be underwhelming. However, in the Tamil pre-release event, Kamal Haasan stated that his preference for Indian 3 doesn’t diminish his appreciation for Indian 2.

Kamal Haasan firmly stated, “Just because I said that I liked Indian 3 more doesn’t necessarily mean that I didn’t like Indian 2. When you have a meal, you look forward to the dessert. My wait for Indian 3 is the same. It’s like asking a child whether he likes his father or mother. I didn’t request the third part. Initially, it was all a single part. So, don’t misconstrue my preference for Indian 3 as looking down upon Indian 2.”
