Leo, fronted by Thalapathy Vijay, is the all-time biggest grosser in Tamil Nadu region with about Rs. 223 crores gross. Apart from Leo, only Ponniyin Selvan 1 managed to collect more than Rs. 200 crores gross in this territory. It looks like Thalapathy Vijay’s The GOAT is all set to enter this elite club soon.

In its first week, The GOAT earned approximately Rs. 140 crores in Tamil Nadu, and this is the second biggest first week total after Leo, which amassed Rs. 167 crores in the same time frame. At this rate, The GOAT should comfortably reach the second position among the all-time top-grossers of Tamil Nadu, surpassing PS 1.

Leo had a brilliant run in Kerala and Telugu states, but Venkat Prabhu’s directorial failed to attract Malayali and Telugu audiences. Hence, the worldwide collections of The GOAT are lower than those of Leo. Meenakshi Chaudhary played the leading lady. AGS Entertainment bankrolled this biggie, and Yuvan Shankar Raja composed the tunes.
