This Friday, the world is set to witness Jr NTR’s powerful presence in Devara: Part 1. Directed by Siva Koratala, this mass entertainer has generated significant buzz. It marks Koratala’s third collaboration with Jr NTR as a writer and the second as a director, which has raised high expectations.

In a recent interview with Alia Bhatt and Karan Johar, Jr NTR shed light on Devara, particularly revealing the reason behind their decision to split the film into two parts.

Jr NTR mentioned that splitting the movie into two was never the original plan. He recalled encouraging Koratala to keep writing as more characters and storylines emerged, leading to an unexpectedly large amount of material.

He also reflected on Saif Ali Khan’s role, stating that the performance reminded him of Omkara, bringing a similar intensity and vibe. He hinted that it could be one of Saif’s most impressive roles in recent times, highlighting how many captivating characters there were in the story.

Eventually, their editor Srikant Prasad informed them that the film had already reached a five-hour runtime, even before completing the first half of the shoot. This took everyone by surprise, as they had become so immersed in the storytelling. It was at this point that they realized the project would need to be divided into two parts.
