There are a number of films that will never see the light of the day even though their shooting gets completed. Despite the actor and director putting in their efforts, fans and the general audience will never get to see such movies. In some cases such movies will release years after they are stuck in the production hell.
Very recently, ANR’s Prathibimbalu hit the big screens after a 40-year-delay. One such scenario has now occurred in Bollywood. Star hero Ajay Devgn’s psychological thriller Naam, which was shot in 2004, is finally making its way to the theatres in November 2024. Directed by Anees Bazmee, the film hit the back burner and hasn’t been released to date.
Efforts were made to release the film in 2013 and 2020, but they didn’t turn out to be successful. Now, the makers announced that the movie would release on November 22, 2024. Interestingly, Anees Bazmee’s directorial Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 is clashing with Ajay Devgn’s Singham Again at the box office this Diwali season.
Benaam was the initial title of this much delayed Ajay Devgn starrer, but later it was changed to Naam. Priyanka Chopra was initially cast as the leading lady, but due to some issues, Sameera Reddy replaced her. Himesh Reshammiya composed the music for this flick, which also stars Bhumika Chawla.
In 2019, Anees Bazmee posted a pic of him with Ajay Devgn from the sets of Naam. In his tweet, Anees Bazmee mentioned that the audience would surely like the film and expressed confidence that Naam would hit the screens one day. Finally, the director’s wish is coming true, and we need to see how the audience will receive this two-decade-old film.
