Tollywood has lost a beloved lyricist, Kulasekhar. He made his debut with Teja’s Chitram (2000) and went on to write numerous iconic songs. Kulasekhar passed away today at Gandhi Hospital in Hyderabad due to health complications.

Born in Simhachalam, Vizag, Kulasekhar began his career as a journalist with Eenadu before transitioning to the film industry as a lyricist. His breakthrough film, Chitram, earned him widespread recognition and opened doors for him to pen lyrics for several popular films, including Jayam, Gharshana, Bommarillu, Nuvvu Nenu, Manasantha Nuvve, and Mrugaraju. His most recent work was reportedly for Nithiin’s Macharla Niyojakavargham.

In recent years, Kulasekhar struggled with mental health issues, and at one point, he was involved in a controversy after stealing valuables from a temple in Hyderabad. This led to some distancing from his family, and he spent his later years in Moti Nagar, Hyderabad.

His passing has left the film industry in mourning, with many celebrities paying tribute. At 123telugu, we join in remembering his contributions to Telugu cinema. May his soul rest in peace.
