Filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma, who has been reportedly absconding to evade arrest in connection with his derogatory posts on Andhra Pradesh CM Nara Chandrababu Naidu and ministers Nara Lokesh and Pawan Kalyan, released a video message from an undisclosed location. In the video, RGV said he is “extremely sorry” to disappoint those who are speculating that he is fearing arrest and absconding.

RGV questioned the multiple cases filed against him for the posts he shared on X almost a year ago and said that these cases are an attempt of persecution by the state through the police authorities and do not hold any merit. RGV added that his posts ironically hurt the sentiments of random people instead of the people he tweeted against. “I am not sure how these cases will be accepted in the court. Eventually, there is a law of land that will take the final call, to which I abide as a citizen,” he added.

RGV further explained that he had received notices from the AP Police and requested them for some time to respond. He revealed that he couldn’t attend the questioning only due to his professional commitments. Meanwhile, the High Court has adjourned RGV’s anticipatory bail plea to November 27. Initially, there were reports that RGV had fled to Coimbatore. However, latest reports reveal that he is taking shelter at a farmhouse owned by a popular film star.
