Kollywood star Vijay Sethupathi’s popularity in the twin Telugu states needs no introduction. The actor wowed his Telugu fans with his splendid performances in movies such as Pizza, Mani Ratnam’s Nawab, 96, Master, Vikram, and Maharaja, to name a few. Fondly addressed by his fans as Makkal Selvan, Vijay Sethupathi made his Tollywood debut with Chiranjeevi’s Sye Raa in 2019 and followed it up with the blockbuster romantic drama, Uppena, in 2021.
During a recent event while promoting his upcoming movie, Vidudala 2, Vijay Sethupathi revealed that he has been listening to scripts narrated by Tollywood filmmakers and hinted at a possible debut in Telugu cinema in a lead role. “I am on the job, and it may happen soon,” said the award-winning actor.
In Vidudala 2, the much-awaited sequel to the critically acclaimed crime drama Vidudala, Vijay Sethupathi will be seen in the role of an extremist leader. Directed by Vetrimaaran, the film also features Soori, Manju Warrier, Bhavana Sre, Kishore, Gautham Menon, and others in key roles. The film is scheduled to open in cinemas worldwide on December 20.
