Maha Samudram is up for a release on the 14th of this month and today, we caught up with Aditi Rao Hydari for a brief interview. Here is the transcript.

Tell us about your character in the film?

I play Maha who is a very hardworking and transparent girl. Things change drastically for her character in the film due to crazy circumstances that happen in Vizag. She is a dancer and how she falls in love and things change for her is the story.

Your reaction to being approached by Ajay Bhupathi?

I had seen RX100 even before Ajay Bhupathi narrated the script to me. The way he narrated the story and only wanted me in the role move me. He waited for two long years for the film to go on floors. My role, his narration, and the way he celebrates cinema drew me to the film.

Working with Ajay Bhupathi?

Ajay Bhupathi is like a five-year-old kid who is excited about filmmaking. His vision and how he narrated the love story will impress you for sure. He is so clear with his characters and the manner in which he extracted performances is so good to see. In a way, he challenged me to perform in a better way.

Is this a triangular love story?

Laughs. To know that you have to watch the film on the big screen. I can only say that my character, Maha is the central point of the film.

Your working experience with the likes of Siddharth and Sharwa?

Sid is an actor who likes to work on his character and do a lot of homework. But Sharwa is an intense actor who comes to the set and gets into the character. As far as I know, they both came to the sets as their characters and gave a splendid performance.

Future projects?

I am doing a key role in Ponniyan Selvan and have also wrapped up a film with Dulquer Salman. I am also in talks for a few Telugu projects which I will announce soon.
