Allari Naresh is struggling hard to score a hit from the past year or so. Losing no hope, he is back with a new film called Meda Meeda Abbayi which releases tomorrow. On this occasion, we caught up with Naresh for a detailed interview. Here is the transcript.

What made you choose a remake?

Some of my close friends in Hyderabad asked me to watch ‘Oru Vadakkan Selfie’ when it released in the city. I liked the film very much and as my producer, Bopanna Chandrasekhar had the remake rights with him, we went ahead with the project.

What’s new about Meda Meeda Abbayi?

Comedy thrillers are quite rare in Telugu films and our movie falls in the very same category. Generally, all my films have a lot of comedy but Meda Meeda Abbayi also has an emotional story which is narrated in a very interesting manner.

About your role in the film?

I have a very interesting role which is filled with innocence. You will not see my doing crazy spoofs or over the top comedy in the film. My role will act according to the situation which itself will be quite interesting.

What made you choose the same director for the remake as well?

I always feel that the director who made the original should also direct the remake. This is the only reason we roped in Prajith. He has done a wonderful job and worked even harder for the Telugu version.

Major highlight of the film?

The four main characters of me, Srinivasa Avasarala, Hyper Adi and Nihila Vimal embark on a road journey in the second half which will be the biggest highlight of the film.

What kind of roles do you want to do in the future?

I am game for intense roles like the ones in Gamyam, Nenu and Sambo Shiva Sambo. The only condition is that they need to be narrated in a little lively way for the audience.

Future projects?

I have signed two films and one of them will roll out in October. I will announce them officially.
