Action hero Gopichand’s high budget entertainer, Oxygen, is finally hitting the screens on November 30th. On this occasion, we caught up with Gopichand for a brief interview. Here is the transcript.
Q) How is the film going to be?
A) As the hero of this movie, I will say that Oxygen is a good film (laughs), but all I can say is that this film is a wholesome family entertainer with a good under current social message.
Q) Tell us about your character in the film?
A) I cannot reveal my role in the film. Just wait for three more days to know about it.
Q) What made you believe in the director Jyothi Krishna?
A) Definitely the story. I liked the basic plot of the film and along with that experienced producer A. M. Rathnam is also with him. So I said okay to this project.
Q) What did you think is the main reason for the film’s delay?
A) Frankly speaking, I too have no idea about it. While starting, we planned to wrap up the film in six months, but the film got delayed due to various reasons.
Q) Did you analyse Goutham Nanda’s failure?
A) Yeah. Somewhere I felt that the film had lost its connectivity in the second half, but ultimately we have to accept the audience verdict.
Q) Coming back to Oxygen, Tell us about your heroine Anu Emmanuel?
A) Actually, this is Anu Emmanuel’s first Telugu film. As our language is new for her, she struggled a lot initially but picked up later. I’m sure she will reach great heights in Telugu.
Q) Working experience with Jagapathi Babu?
A) It was a good experience working with him after a long gap. He has got a good role in the film.
Q) You have recently launched your 25th film. Tell us about this whole journey?
A) Yeah, it’s been good with lots of ups and downs. I saw hits and flops, but at the end of the day the whole journey is a good learning process.
Q) Can we expect a film with your friend Prabhas?
A) Definitely. We both are looking for the perfect script. If we come across one, we will surely collaborate.
