Vishwak Sen’s Gaami, which was released on March 8th, is having a good run at the box office. Directed by Vidhyadhar Kagita, the film has Chandini Chowdhary as the female lead. As the film is performing well, its producer, Karthik Sabareesh, interacted with the media, and here is the transcript.

How are you feeling as Gaami is receiving applause from one and all?

For newcomers like us, releasing the film after completing it is a great deal. We are pumped up with the massive response for Gaami. The film’s success gave us the confidence to produce more such good films, and I thank the audience for this success.

We heard that the team that worked for the VFX of Game Of Thrones worked for Gaami. Could you tell us in detail?

Director Vidhyadar took special care of VFX, and he has a good command of special effects. If you observe carefully, Gaami involves a lot of VFX. Our intention is to get the best possible output within the limitations. The lion sequence was done by the Game Of Thrones VFX team, and our team added a special touch to it. This helped us minimize the cost. We didn’t have any pressure to meet the deadline. Hence, we were able to achieve solid output.

Did you start the film just with the amount obtained through crowdfunding?

To be frank, the money we obtained through crowd funding is very less. However, it is not possible to start the project only after receiving the entire amount. We kick-started with the first schedule in Nellore, and as it was my native, it became easy to obtain permissions. We completed the Nellore schedule within our budget. The biggest challenge was ahead. This is when Nag Ashwin Garu called us, and he gave a video byte after observing our preparation. After this, a few associations came forward to support us.

Did the budget increase after V. Celluloid got associated with Gaami?

We started increasing the budget after the enhancement of VIshwak Sen’s market. As he scored back-to-back hits, it instilled courage in me. We felt safe after V. Celluloid joined hands with us.

What is that you liked the most about Gaami’s story?

People compared Gaami with two films, but in reality, we started Gaami even before those movies. When it comes to climax, the concept is very unique. I felt the same when the director narrated the script. That unique element made us do the film.

Could you tell us about your upcoming films?

I am currently working as the executive producer of Chiranjeevi Garu’s Vishwambara. After Vishwambara’s completion, I will think about new projects.
