Gopichand’s Rama Banam, produced by People Media Factory, and directed by Sriwass, is all set to hit the screens on May 05, 2023. The film features an ensemble cast, including Jagapathi Babu, Dimple Hayati, Khushbu, Khushbu, Sachin Khedekar, Nasser, Ali, Raja Ravindra, Vennela Kishore, Saptagiri, Kashi Vishwanath, Satya, Getup Srinu, Sameer, and Tarun Arora. Mickey J Meyer is composing the tunes. Much ahead of the release, we had a brief interaction with Khushbu, and here is the transcript.

How significant is your role in Rama Banam?

The film is very close to my heart. The value of relationships is the most important takeaway for me from the film. It’s not always about earning, but what matter is holding your loved ones together. My character promotes the importance of organic and traditional food in Rama Banam.

How’s your working experience with Gopichand and Jagapathi Babu?

On the last day of shooting, Gopichand and I realized that we didn’t exchange contact details or click pictures together. Though he is a reserved person on set, he is mischievous too and brings that aspect into his roles. When it comes to Jagapathi Babu, I have known him for a long time, and I have also worked in his production house.

How important is the food element in Rama Banam?

Excessive consumption of food with preservatives will lead to more health issues. Fast food that often comes in packed containers causes severe health problems. Delicious food can be prepared using conventional methods like terracotta and grinding with traditional grinders. In these modern times, people opt for fast food, which is a relatively easier option. Rama Banam’s main motto is to promote healthy food habits.

Can you talk about the controversies around you?

I opine that people have preconceived notions that a good-looking actress won’t be intelligent. People articulate in her conversations, and hence controversies arise. News channels and media outlets try to add a celebrity to a piece of news to gain more public attention. With the increased use of social media, news travels fast, and people are becoming judgemental. However, people don’t know me as a person.

What kind of roles do you wish to do?

I don’t have any specific role in my mind. Also, I do not feel bad for not doing a particular role. But to be frank, I felt jealous when Tabu did Cheeni Kum with Amitabh Bachchan. I called her and jokingly fired her for romancing Amitabh ji, whom I admire the most.

Can you talk about your political journey?

I contested as an MLA in the previous elections, but I couldn’t win, unfortunately. So now it’s up to the party to decide if I should contest or not. I am confident that I can handle both films and politics if I am given a chance.

Will you work on more Telugu films in the coming days?

I would definitely consider acting alongside Chiranjeevi and Balakrishna if given the opportunity. Despite being in the industry for a long time, I never got the chance to share the screen with them. I will work with them if the right script comes to me.
